Alzheimer’s and Dementia

The way our brains form and recall memories changes as we grow older. These neurological changes can contribute to age-related memory loss. Forgetfulness is a common complaint in our later years, but there are things you can do to improve your memory, no matter what age you are. Brain Training is a method of exercising the various memory systems that are critical to cognitive performance.

We create customized Brain Training Programs designed to help clients reach their goal of boosting memory. Training may include a variety of high and low-tech interventions including, but not limited to. Neurofeedback (NFB), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), Interactive Metronome (IM) training, sensory training (visual, auditory, olfactory, electrical, vestibular, etc.), motor skills, and nutritional and lifestyle interventions.

Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease and Brain Training

Advanced memory loss can be a sign of a more serious neurological condition such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. If you or a loved one is having difficulty navigating social environments, getting lost in familiar neighborhoods, participating in conversations, recalling events, performing common everyday tasks, or shifting attention, these signs may indicate an underlying neurological disorder causing memory decline. Even in this case, you can and should improve your memory to the highest degree possible.

In the case of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, brain training can lead to improvements that will help a client feel safer and more secure in their surroundings, decreased stress levels, improved well-being, and a return to a more productive and fulfilling lifestyle. Brain training may add significant quality of life to your years!
