How to Prevent Dementia and Alzheimer’s Related Memory Loss – There are many types of dementia, some of which are preventable and others that are not. Conditions that are considered genetically driven, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and brain tumors, lead to degeneration and loss of nerve connections and cells within the brain that result in the decline in cognitive abilities such as memory, reasoning and problem solving.     I find it so encouraging that dementia can be prevented! You talk about how early intervention yields the best results. I’m in my mid-20s and don’t have any signs of dementia yet, but both of my grandmothers have dementia so I’m worried that I’ll end up with it too. Is it too early for me to start doing preventative routines like brain training and getting regular metabolic and nutritional assessments?
